Graduate Protection Engineer

Contribute to the advancement of power grid technology, helping to shape the future of the energy sector.

This exciting opportunity is based in Stone, Staffordshire, where you'll work with the team three days per week. As part of a dynamic and supportive engineering environment, you will help deliver innovative solutions to our customers while developing your technical and professional skills.

You will gain an understanding of the UK market across our product portfolios and, with the support and guidance of the team, take responsibility for managing smaller projects.

If you are still looking to secure a graduate position, it's not too late. We are seeking someone to join us on 7 September 2026. We plan on having 1-hour face-to-face interviews in the Stone office on 22nd July and 23rd July.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Assist in preparing functional design specifications and project scope documents.
  • Prepare protection designs for production and manufacturing.
  • Learn about Protection product selection, IED configurations, and protection IEC61850 engineering.
  • Participate in the development of new protection solutions and control the full development cycle (from concept design to delivery).
  • Handle type registration, product approval engineering, and documentation.
  • Help prepare proposals/presentations for engineering projects/programs (including bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
  • Develop commercial awareness and support project management by issuing claims (related to new/changes in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
  • Support communication related to specific assignments or meetings.

Background

  • A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or Protection Engineering.
  • Positive creative approach to engineering and project work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels within the business.
  • A keenness to learn and self-develop through self-teaching and inquisitive engagement. We offer an on-site "Buddy" system to ensure continuous learning and development.
  • Able to work from our Stone office at least three days a week.
