Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Salary: To £32,000 depending on experience

Are you a recent Quantity Surveying graduate looking to launch your career on exciting infrastructure and water projects?
At OnSite, you'll have the opportunity to work on some of our largest and most complex projects while receiving hands-on training, mentoring from experienced commercial professionals, and exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor who wants to develop their commercial skills within a supportive team, gain responsibility from day one, and build a long-term career in the utilities and civil engineering sector.

With a proven track record in the successful delivery of projects and contracts across a broad spectrum of market sectors, OnSite consists of specialist operating areas – drainage, sewer rehabilitation, pipelines, civil engineering, specialist maintenance and rail services.
The Role
Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Operational Managers, you'll support the commercial management of several projects and learn how to:
- Assist in the preparation of valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, budgets and profitability.
- Maintain records of costs, variations, programme changes and project performance.
- Support subcontractor procurement, administration and account management.
- Help prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and CVRs.
- Learn and apply NEC and JCT contract principles.
- Attend project meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in identifying commercial risks and opportunities across projects.
- Support tendering activities and pricing exercises.
- Contribute to post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential
What You’ll Need:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or due to graduate this year).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ambitious, proactive and eager to learn.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office packages.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Previous placement year, internship or work experience within construction, utilities or civil engineering.
- Basic understanding of NEC or JCT contracts.
- Interest in water, infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
