We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our highly experienced and multi-disciplined Quantity Surveying team in Haywards Heath.
This role is ideal for a recent Quantity Surveying graduate or someone in the early stages of their career who is looking to develop their technical knowledge, gain practical project experience and work towards becoming a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects, primarily within the public sector, and support the delivery of quantity surveying and cost management services from project inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting senior members of the Quantity Surveying team in the delivery of professional quantity surveying and cost management services.
- Assisting in the preparation of project cost estimates, feasibility studies, and cost plans appropriate to the RIBA stage of a project and in accordance with NRM.
- Assisting with the preparation of tender documentation and pre-tender estimates.
- Supporting procurement and tender evaluation activities.
- Assisting in the assessment of variations, change control procedures, and project expenditure.
- Supporting the preparation of cost reports and financial updates for clients.
- Assisting with post-contract cost management activities, including valuations and financial reporting.
- Attending client, design team, and project meetings as required.
- Undertaking site visits and inspections to support project delivery.
- Maintaining accurate project records and cost information.
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Participating in structured professional development and APC training where applicable.
- Carrying out other duties commensurate with the role as directed by your line manager.

Our Successful Candidate
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to develop a successful career in Quantity Surveying. Relevant industry experience gained through placements, internships or work experience would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree (or expected degree) in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- RICS-accredited degree desirable.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in Quantity Surveying and Cost Management.
- Willingness to work towards Chartered status through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
- CSCS card holder or willing to obtain.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Awareness of construction industry processes and quantity surveying principles.
- Awareness of construction health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Full UK Driving Licence to meet the travelling requirements of the role.
