Graduate Recruitment Adviser / Career Adviser

School/Function: Employability and Graduate Outcomes

Reports to: Head of Employability and Graduate Outcomes

Key Responsibilities: Mentoring and supporting students to secure professional occupations

Location: All Campuses (Holborn, Great Titchfield Street, Wembley, Kingsbury, Harrow, Southall)

Working Pattern: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Overall Purpose

This is a new role within the Graduate Outcomes Career Team. The Graduate Recruitment Adviser / Career Adviser will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders—including the Graduate Outcomes Manager, Director of Student Experience, academic staff, Work Placement Coordinators, and employers—to deliver one-to-one and group career coaching, support students in securing graduate-level professional roles, or progressing to further study.

The role involves establishing and coordinating effective careers support systems, developing key skills among students, and driving positive graduate outcomes. You will also maintain accurate performance tracking against statutory Office for Students (OfS) KPIs, build employer relationships, and source relevant job opportunities.

This position requires versatility, independence, teamwork, strong prioritisation skills, and the ability to work toward high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Career Programme Development

    • Work in partnership with the Head of Employability and Graduate Outcomes and team to design and implement a comprehensive programme of career support for graduating students.
  • Student Engagement & Support

    • Maintain multichannel communication with students across all campuses to deliver professional career guidance.
    • Create a suite of in-person, digital, online, and self-service tools to ensure students receive personalised coaching (group sessions, 1:1 consultations, workshops).
    • Act as a one-stop resource for career-related inquiries, providing accurate advice on recruitment, CV preparation, interviews, and further study options.
  • Data Collection & Reporting

    • Coordinate data collection, including student appointments, interview outcomes, and progression records.
    • Maintain records (both digital and paper-based) and supply confidential statistical reports for internal and external use.
    • Monitor performance against OfS KPIs in collaboration with Academic Registry and data teams.
  • Stakeholder & Employer Liaison

    • Establish relationships with internal teams (Academic Registry, Work Placement Team, Schools/Faculties, Alumni) and external partners (employers, alumni agencies, Further Education colleges).
    • Build and nurture partnerships with employers and recruitment services to align opportunities with student requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
