Role Description
The Mother Cabrini Institute on Immigration is conducting research on innovative models in immigration legal services, with a focus on scaling the Department of Justice (DOJ)-Recognized Organization and Accredited Representatives (R+A) program.

In 2024, the Strategic Initiative for Migrants and Refugees (SIMR) partnered with the Center for Migration Studies of New York to conduct the first-ever national study of R+A practitioners. The **research team is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant (Data Analyst) to assist in:
- Cleaning and recoding Qualtrics survey data
- Producing data visualizations (including maps) for analysis
- Transforming raw datasets into actionable insights
Note: Before data access, candidates must complete CITI training (~3–5 hours) or demonstrate existing IRB clearance.
Responsibilities
- Work with a senior researcher to process, recode, and visualize survey data
- Collaborate on tasks such as:
- Refining datasets for statistical analysis
- Generating tables and figures
- Creating geospatial maps (using ArcGIS preferred)
- Ensure data accuracy before visualization and reporting

Requirements & Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Have experience in Stata for:
- Cleaning raw survey data
- Recoding variables
- Producing tables and visualizations
- Bonus: Experience with ArcGIS or mapping platforms for spatial data analysis
- Be a current Villanova University student

- Compensation: $18/hour as a Graduate Research Assistant
