Internal Job Title: Graduate Business Manager
About the Role
At Starbank Hob Moor Road Primary, part of Star Academies, we’re seeking an ambitious and proactive candidate to take on the role of Graduate Business Manager.
The Graduate Business Manager will play a critical part in the strategic and day-to-day management of the school, supporting the Senior Leadership Team and Governors. This role is designed for a graduate eager to make an immediate and significant impact, while developing their leadership and operational management skills in an exciting, fast-paced educational environment.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Support: Provide strategic and operational support to the Senior Leadership Team and Governors to ensure the smooth running of the school.
- Information & Reporting: Compile and present crucial strategic information to the Principal and Governors.
- Leadership in Business & Resources: Lead the development and management of the school’s business and resource functions, including:
- HR & Facilities: Governance, estates, administration, and IT.
- Catering & Operations: Lead on contracts such as cleaning, catering, and caretaking.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
- Finance Collaboration: Work closely with the school Finance Lead to oversee designated financial aspects of the school, including admissions and attendance.
- Contract Management: Oversee contracts including cleaning, catering, and caretaking services.

Requirements
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A degree qualification (or equivalent recognised experience).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact confidently with stakeholders, Governors, and external agencies.
- Exceptional people management skills, including:
- Conducting regular meetings.
- Setting key performance targets.
- Delegating tasks appropriately and monitoring results.
- Ensuring quality delivery and outcomes.
