What You’ll Do
As a SOC Analyst, you’ll receive comprehensive training in Security Operations, building on your academic foundation and any relevant experience. This is an entry-level role, so prior security experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing high-quality security analysis for Proact and our customers
- Identifying anomalies and patterns in event data
- Assessing vulnerabilities across Proact and customer environments
- Monitoring for Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) to detect potential threats
- Alerting customers and internal stakeholders to suspicious or high-risk events
- Liaising directly with customers to aid investigations and provide clarity
- Reviewing authentication activity for suspicious or fraudulent failures

Technical Growth Areas
You’ll also progress in areas such as:
- Network protocols, including TCP/IP fundamentals
- Operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Hosting platforms, enterprise systems, and infrastructure
- Virtual environments
- Security products: Antivirus (AV), Intrusion Detection/IPS (IDS/IPS), SIEM, Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) detection
- Vulnerability assessment and management
- Malware and social engineering techniques
- MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (covering ISO and Cyber Essentials)
What We’re Looking For
- A relevant degree (e.g., Cyber Security or Information Security), achieving at least a 2.2 classification
- Eligibility to obtain HM Gövernment Security-level clearance (HM GSC)
- A passionate interest in expanding Cyber Security knowledge with a willingness to pursue further training
- Strong ability to document and explain technical information clearly—for both technical teams and non-technical leadership
- A creative mindset with the capacity to think outside the box and improve existing processes
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills

Shift Details
- Four 12-hour shifts, alternating between day shifts (7am–7pm) followed by four off days, and night shifts (7pm–7am) followed by another four off days.
- Breaks: Over 12 hours, each shift includes a 1-hour meal break + two 15-minute comfort breaks.
- Weekend and public holiday shifts may be required if they fall within your assigned schedule.
