Graduate Software Engineer

A fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Software Engineer to join a highly innovative, research-driven technology start-up working on complex, cutting-edge systems. This organisation is building advanced platforms at the intersection of AI, algorithms, and next-generation software, and is looking for high-calibre graduates to join their growing engineering team. You will gain exposure across the full stack, working closely with experienced engineers and researchers in a deeply technical environment.

Location: Cambridge – on-site 5 days a week

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum + benefits

Requirements for Graduate Software Engineer:

  • Minimum of a 2.1 degree from a leading university in Computer Science or a closely related subject
  • Minimum of AAB at A Level or equivalent qualifications
  • Strong academic background, ideally from universities such as Bristol, Warwick, Manchester, Cambridge or similar
  • Experience with software development across front-end, back-end, or full-stack technologies
  • Good understanding of JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React or Angular is beneficial
  • Exposure to back-end development and APIs
  • Some familiarity with Python is advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in complex technical challenges
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a highly collaborative team

Responsibilities for Graduate Software Engineer:

  • Contribute to the design and development of software across the full stack
  • Support the development of front-end applications and user interfaces
  • Work closely with back-end engineers to integrate APIs and systems
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to translate complex workflows into usable software
  • Assist in taking early-stage prototypes through to production-ready systems
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas to improve systems and processes
