Graduate Structural Engineer

London, N1
£31k-£34k

Be part of something dynamic and exciting…

Could you be interested to become the sixth employee of an up and coming structural engineering practice? Current staff highly recommend!

Workload

Workload is currently exceptionally busy and the time and structure is now right for their next graduate to join and be given appropriate support. The practice plans to be around 10 staff in the next few years.

The Director

The Director is MIStructE qualified, very personable and experienced at mentoring for Chartership. He was been part of a reputable London practice for 10 years, where he was their first employee himself but branched out to build his own brand, starting this practice in early 2024.

The Role

The role would suit a high calibre graduate structural engineer with 6 months to a year of buildings design experience. Ability to use Revit would be advantageous. You must be keen for development and career growth, an exceptionally varied workload and involvement in all aspects of projects. A fresh graduate of exceptional calibre will also be considered. You would be given the flexibility and autonomy that can only come with working for a small practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The firm shares fabulous newly fitted out office space with one of their lovely architect clients, so there is a team of friendly people to talk to.

This role would suit a driven candidate with excellent communication skills and a desire to take autonomy for work, get involved in all aspects of projects and play a part in the future of the company - not just do the number crunching!

The work is exceptionally varied, often architecturally led bespoke projects, generally £1m-£6m in build value, and would suit a thinking engineer who enjoys fiddly problem solving and working with good architects.

Current projects include:

  • A 5 storey RC frame new build
  • Vertical extensions
  • Supermarkets with flats above
  • An embassy building in London
  • Bespoke residential schemes
  • Fancy internal staircases
  • A private residential house sunken into a hillside where the owner would like it column free
  • Multi-storey new build townhouses
  • Conversion of garages to housing which are based on some tricky ground
  • Temporary works schemes and refurbs

They notably did the design for UK's first ever indoor EV charging station.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills are essential
  • A desire to work towards Chartership
