Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEND School – South Birmingham
Do you have a genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs? Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start your career in education? This outstanding special school is looking to add a Graduate Teaching Assistant to the team to provide support for children with a primary diagnosis of Autism. This is an opportunity for a Graduate Teaching Assistant and aspiring teacher or SEND Teacher to gain vital practical experience prior to starting your teacher training.

The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with experienced teachers and support staff to ensure that every child receives the support that they deserve. You will be working on a 1-2-1 and whole-class basis, supporting children with additional learning needs including Autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome and associated needs. Your focus will be on ensuring children are nurtured, cared for, and engaged with learning.
The Candidate
This role is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate who is looking to start a career in teaching or working with children with special educational needs. Previous experience working with children is desirable, however, not essential. Most importantly, you will be patient, empathetic, and have a genuine desire to help young people access education.
