Graduate Teaching Assistant

Graduate Teaching Assistant Position – Outstanding Primary School (Ward of Yardley)

  • A full-year position in a ‘Outstanding’ primary school (September 2026–July 2027).
  • £85 – £101 per day for a structured, enriching experience.
  • Work across the primary phase, assisting with academic intervention, small-group support, and classroom engagement.

The Role

  • Provide broad classroom and academic support across the primary age range (3–11).
  • Offer 1:1 assistance and small-group intervention where necessary.
  • Engage pupils and reinforce learning in core subjects (e.g., literacy, numeracy).
  • Assist in lesson preparation, resource creation, and pupil progress tracking.
  • Work closely with classroom educators to implement best teaching practices.

About the Candidate

Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum 2:2 or above in any discipline.
  • Communication skills: Outstanding written and verbal clarity when interacting with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Enhanced DBS check: Mandatory enrolment or an existing valid Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Passion for education: A commitment to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Career ambition: Clear desire to train as a teacher and build a lasting career in teaching.
