Graduate Teaching Assistant – Outstanding Secondary School

Croydon, CR0 | September 2026 Start

£95–£115 per day | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00am–3:30pm

Are you a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before embarking on a career in teaching?

A highly regarded secondary school in the heart of Croydon (CR0) is seeking an ambitious Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its successful support team. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering teacher training, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or a long-term career working with young people.

The Role

  • Supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 within lessons
  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy
  • Providing one-to-one support for pupils who require additional guidance
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Encouraging student engagement, confidence and academic progress
  • Working closely with experienced teachers and senior leaders

The Ideal Graduate

  • Holds a degree in any subject
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, proactive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Passionate about supporting young people's development
  • Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth work experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Interested in pursuing teacher training in the future
