Graduate Teaching Assistant, KPI EDUCATION

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: Birmingham | Scope: Full-time | Fixed Term (Term-Time Only) Salary: £500–£530 per week

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is looking for a passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 3 & 4 (KS3–4) students in unlocking their full potential.

About the Role

You will collaborate closely with teachers while fostering a positive learning culture and helping students develop confidence, resilience, and ambition. This is an excellent opportunity to gain classroom experience—ideal for those considering teacher training (e.g. PGCE) or pursuing a career in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classroom learning across KS3 & KS4
  • Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions to enhance attainment
  • Assist with lesson planning, resource preparation, and classroom management
  • Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers
  • Encourage a supportive, motivated atmosphere for all learners

We’re seeking a high-achieving graduate with:

  • A 2:1 or First-class degree in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, or a related field (from a recognised UK university)
  • A genuine passion for education and working with young people
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
