Graduate Technical Services Manager
Graduate Technical Services Manager (TSM) Department: Technical and Engineering Services Team Location: Nottingham office or Leeds Office (Preferable: Nottingham)** Start Date: September 2026 Working Pattern: UK-wide remit with regular travel required
About the Role
Lambert Smith Hampton is a leading UK provider of Property Management and Facilities Management services, acting as the managing agent for some of the UK’s largest investors and occupiers. This opportunity is for a Graduate Technical Services Manager (TSM) to support the Technical Services and Facilities Management (FM) Team in expanding our service offering.
This is a 100% operational role, with responsibilities spanning:
- Operational Delivery
- Project Management
- Risk Management
- Consultancy
- Commercial Management
Key Interfaces
The role will require key interactions with:
- Commercial Property Management colleagues
- Directors and colleagues across the UK business
- Clients (Landlords, Investors, Asset Managers)
- Tenants & Occupiers
- Statutory & enforcing bodies
- External agencies & contractors
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Support
- Provide technical subject matter expertise (SME) support for property management across our managed portfolio, including:
- Offices
- Industrial properties
- Retail spaces
- Offer technical advice and operational support to both the FM team and our clients.
Core Technical Services
Support the TSM team in:
- Procurement & Tendering
- Contract Administration
- Contractor Management
- Asset Register Maintenance, including verification exercises
- Creation and management of 5–10 Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) plans
- Plant replacement planning, alongside cost-benefit financial appraisals
- Risk management for engineering services
- Tenant fit-out support or technical consultancy
- High Voltage & Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) oversight
- Warranty & defect management

Term Consultancy Support
Engage in LSH Term Consultancy services to:
- Conduct site & contractor audits for both reactive & planned maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with agreed specifications & industry standards.
- Develop audit reports & action plans for service improvements.
- Support quarterly contractor meetings.
Client Engagement
- Attend & represent LSH at client meetings as required.
- Maintain client liaison, including timely & accurate reporting (internal and external).
Tendering Support
- Assist in maintenance tendering-processes for M&E (mechanical & electrical) and vertical transportation services, including national & ad-hoc opportunities.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience
| Category | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Education | Appropriate building services engineering degree (or equivalent). |
| Professional Development | Commitment to pursue Membership of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (MCIBSE). |
| Commercial Awareness | Proven commercial awareness (via experience or relevant qualification). |
| Technical Knowledge | Strong working knowledge of building systems, including: |
| - Mechanical services | |
| - Electrical services | |
| - Building controls & automation | |
| - Fire & Health & Safety compliance | |
| Communication | Excellent written communication, with an eye for attention to detail. |
| Cost Management | Experience in cost control, variance reporting & forecasting. |
| Soft Skills | Strong people skills and a collaborative, team-working approach. |
