Join our growing Mechanical Solutions team in Turriff
Kick-start your career in the offshore and energy sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is keen to develop commercial, project and business skills within a supportive team.
You'll work alongside experienced colleagues to learn how projects are identified, costed and secured, gaining exposure to business development, tendering, client relationships and commercial decision-making, making this an ideal role for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys problem-solving and wants to build a long-term career.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Learning how to prepare and coordinate high-quality technical and commercial proposals for clients across the offshore and energy sectors.
- Attending client and internal meetings to build your understanding of customer requirements and how opportunities are developed.
- Supporting the review of Invitations to Tender (ITT), Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and project specifications with guidance from experienced colleagues.
- Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Finance teams to gather information and develop competitive proposals.
- Assisting with cost estimates, pricing schedules and commercial documentation while developing an understanding of pricing strategies and commercial decision-making.
- Helping maintain tender documentation, bid registers and business systems, ensuring information is accurate and submitted on time.
- Developing your knowledge of contract terms, commercial risk and proposal governance through participation in internal reviews and approval processes.
- Working closely with Engineering, Workshop and Operations teams to understand how projects move from enquiry through to successful delivery.
- Supporting project handovers following contract award, gaining valuable insight into the full project lifecycle.
- Contributing to tender reviews and continuous improvement activities, learning from completed projects and helping improve future processes.
- Following company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures while developing safe and professional working practices.

What experience you'll bring:
- A recent graduate in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, Commercial Management or related discipline.
- A genuine enthusiasm for learning and developing a career in a commercial and technical environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to work with people across different teams.
- A curious mindset with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to take ownership of your own development.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with an eagerness to learn new systems and processes.
- Previous work or placement experience within Engineering, Energy, Manufacturing, Offshore or Industrial sectors would be beneficial.
- Commercial or contract management principles awareness and understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and project documentation also beneficial.
