Job Title: Graduate Town Planner
Location: Edinburgh
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning consultancy in the appointment of a Graduate Town Planner to join their growing Edinburgh team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Planning graduate to kick:start their career with a highly regarded consultancy, working alongside experienced planning professionals on a wide variety of exciting projects across Scotland and the UK.
You'll gain exposure to residential, commercial, mixed-use, renewable energy and strategic land projects while receiving structured training, mentorship and full support towards achieving RTPI Chartership.
The Role
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will work closely with senior members of the team, assisting in the delivery of planning advice and applications across a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
- Undertaking planning policy and site research.
- Preparing planning appraisals and supporting reports.
- Liaising with local authorities, clients and key stakeholders.
- Supporting senior planners on a range of development projects.
- Attending client meetings, site visits and public consultations.
- Keeping up to date with planning legislation and policy changes.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A degree or Masters in Town Planning or a related discipline accredited by the RTPI.
- A genuine enthusiasm for planning and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
