Graduate Web Developer- 1 year Placement
Graduate Web Developer - 1 Year Placement
We are looking for a junior web developer to join our engineering team in Cambridge. You will be working on the Wolf Security Controller - a web-based management platform for our product. The Controller provides security policy and software updates for the endpoint security product installed on the client PCs. It also receives status, events and threat data from these clients, including malware traces which are used to produce interactive visualisations in the Controller UI and summarised in reports.
The Controller is deployed at scale, both on-premises at individual corporate enterprises with tens of thousands of clients, and in the cloud across multiple Amazon AWS instances. We're looking to scale further, while also adding support for new products and enhancing existing features (see https://www.hpwolf.com/).
Working within a small and focused team you'll have the opportunity to specialise in front-end or back-end, or progress as a full-stack developer. There may also be an opportunity to work on the Windows endpoint management platform component in C# and C++.
Responsibilities
- The API and UI backend (Python 3, Django, SQL)
- The background worker service / task queues (Celery)
- Front-end UI and data visualisation (React, Typescript, Vue.js)
- Deployment to AWS
- Installation and upgrade on customers' self-hosted, on-prem servers.
- Unit tests, automated installation tests, anything else we can have the CI system do for us
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject from a well-regarded university
- Demonstrable interest in web development through hobbies, student projects or internships
- A self-starter mindset ready to jump into working on complex problems

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our history: Inspired by the isolation principles of traditional virtualization, our team, known then as Bromium, created a game-changing technology called micro-virtualization to protect end users against advanced malware. Every task the user performs, such as opening a document or clicking on a link, is isolated in its own micro-VM, with access to just the resources required for that task, and existing just for the life of the task. Protection is thus provided through isolation, without relying on detection, hence reliably defending the user from polymorphic and even zero-day malware. Bromium was acquired by HP Inc on 19 September 2019 forming HP Wolf Security. For more information, visit our website: https://www.hp.com/uk-en/security/endpoint-security-solutions.html
