Graduate/Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
Role Purpose This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, delivery, and management of high-quality projects nationwide, working alongside an experienced team of industry professionals. The successful candidate will have Building Services Consultancy experience, a strong technical background, and the confidence to engage with clients and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities Assist senior team members in the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion. Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including Clients, Architects, Contractors, and Consultants. Provide electrical engineering expertise across a variety of sectors, including residential and commercial developments. Lead and contribute to technical design activities throughout the project lifecycle. Attend and contribute to design team meetings, with support from an Associate Director where required. Undertake site inspections and surveys, reporting findings and recommendations to the design team. Produce and review electrical engineering calculations, designs, specifications, and reports. Work closely with colleagues across the wider business to achieve project and company objectives. Ensure designs comply with current industry regulations, standards, and best practice. Support multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, sustainability, and public health disciplines where necessary. Manage project deadlines and deliverables while maintaining high technical standards.

Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience within a UK Building Services Consultancy environment. Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience designing electrical building services systems within the UK market. Proficiency in lighting design software such as Dialux, Relux, or similar. Experience using Amtech or equivalent cable sizing software. Good working knowledge of CAD and Revit. Understanding of mechanical, sustainability, and public health engineering disciplines. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of current Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and policies. Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team environment. Client-facing experience or a willingness to develop client relationship management skills.

Desirable Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised engineering institution. Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers. Knowledge of low-carbon and sustainable design principles.
