Grant Writing and Research Volunteer
As a Grant Writing and Research Volunteer, you’ll support the team in identifying funding opportunities and preparing strong applications. You’ll research potential funders, gather evidence, and contribute to compelling grant proposals that provide vital resources.
What difference will you make?
Your work will ensure essential funding that will help care for cats in our rescue. This includes veterinary care, foster care, and for feral and stray cats that require intervention. With your help we will be able to deliver high quality care and medical attention to cats in Selby.

What are we looking for?
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a similar role.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Committed to producing high standards of work and detail oriented.
- Strong written communication and research skills, with the ability to craft compelling funding applications.
- Excellent working knowledge and comprehension of written English.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Highly organised, reliable, and able to work to tight deadlines with good timekeeping.
- Ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team.

What will you be doing?
- Research trusts, foundations, and other potential funders
- Drafting, reviewing, and submitting funding applications and meeting grant/bid deadlines
- Drafting, reviewing, and submitting award applications in a timely fashion
- Managing the submissions process, progress, and follow-ups
- Keeping the award applications pipeline updated
