Midweight Graphic Designer
Full-time / Bournemouth, UK
We’re seeking a brilliant midweight graphic designer to join Mad River, a creative studio with a relentless appetite for bold ideas and flawless execution.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to work across a wide range of disciplines—brand identity, campaigns, packaging, print, digital, motion, illustration, events, and experiences. You’ll be our all-round creative force, driving projects from initial concept to polished final artwork.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Sharp design thinking and a knack for big ideas
- Strong layout, typography, and visual communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to craft
- Conceptual flexibility – from scamps to finished designs
- A hands-on attitude who enjoys designing for everything, from screens to physical spaces
- Client and team leadership in a fast-paced studio environment

Key Responsibilities
- Developing and refining brand identities, campaigns, and marketing communications
- Creating packaging, print, digital ads, illustrations, and motion graphics
- Designing for events and physical experiences, ensuring seamless delivery
- Working with clients to interpret briefs, refine ideas, and deliver assets on time
- Leading collaborative discussions, presenting concepts, and incorporating feedback
- Maintaining a high level of consistency and polish in every piece of output
What We’re Looking For
- Comfort with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, etc.)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility and strategic design thinking
- Willingness to take initiative, meet tight deadlines, and contribute across disciplines
- Ability to present ideas confidently and handle constructive criticism
- Someone who pushes boundaries, but also respects the process to polish and perfect work
