About the role

Major Events International (MEI) is a specialist global consultancy dedicated to the major events industry. From our London base, we connect event rights holders, host cities, suppliers and government agencies with the insights, networks and strategic support they need to win contracts and deliver world-class sports, cultural and entertainment events. Our members rely on us for market intelligence, connections and high-quality marketing support — delivered through summits, networking events, publications and a growing digital presence.

We are looking for a creative, organised and detail-driven Graphic Designer & Digital Content Assistant to join our Marketing team. This is a hands-on junior role for someone early in their career who loves design and digital content and wants to develop across print, social, web and video. Working under the direction of the Marketing Lead, you will produce the materials that bring MEI's brand and summits to life — from event flyers and speaker cards to social posts, website updates and short-form video — and see your work in front of senior decision-makers across the global events sector.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Flyers for summits, sessions and promotions.
  • Newsletters — layout and design for email and print distribution to the MEI community.
  • Speaker postcards and other speaker-facing collateral.
  • Journals and long-form publications, including layout, typesetting and production-ready artwork.
  • PowerPoint presentations — both company templates and bespoke decks for specific summits and clients.

Social media

Under supervision and direction, help plan and create engaging social content, including designing 'taster' formats — short clips or preview elements of publications — with clear 'click to read / see more' calls to action:

  • Generate and schedule content for LinkedIn, in line with MEI's brand tone and campaign goals.
  • Support the YouTube channel — help create content and keep it up to date and consistent.
  • Adapt design and video assets into taster formats that drive traffic back to full publications, event pages and membership sign-ups.

Websites

  • Keep the main MEI website fresh — publish updates, refresh visuals, and support improvements to SEO.
  • Maintain the bespoke summit websites, keeping content, imagery and event details current and accurate.

Summit branding

  • Produce and apply consistent physical and digital branding across on-site displays, signage and event materials.
  • Ensure every touchpoint — screen, print and environment — reflects the summit and MEI brand.

Video editing (lower priority)

  • Quick-turnaround, iPhone-level short-form video for networking events and fun, informal content.
  • Edit down interviews into concise, publishable clips.
  • Support occasional more polished 'about the company' style edits as needed.
