Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorisation to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a part time gravedigger to our Bereavement Services team.

Working alongside the Cemeteries Team in the 4 cemeteries of Chesterfield (Boythorpe, Brimington, Staveley and Spital), we need a reliable and hard-working individual to perform varied duties including the careful operation of mowing machines, powered hand tools, and plant such as strimmer’s.

You must be able to deal tactfully and sympathetically with bereaved people and have the upmost consideration for the environment in which you are working, and you must be able to work as part of a team and on your own with the ability to use your own initiative and work to deadlines.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
