An established and growing technology services organisation is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to lead and develop its governance, risk and compliance (GRC) framework.

This newly created role will be responsible for ensuring the business operates in line with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements while supporting commercial objectives and managing organisational risk. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen governance, improve compliance processes and promote a culture of effective risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continually improve the organisation's governance, risk and compliance framework.
  • Own and maintain the corporate risk register, including risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain governance policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Coordinate customer audits, supplier assurance activities and due diligence requests.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and advise the business on regulatory impacts.
  • Lead compliance monitoring, internal reviews and corrective action programmes.
  • Support business continuity planning and organisational resilience initiatives.
  • Deliver risk and compliance reporting, insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Promote compliance awareness and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Risk, Compliance, Governance or Internal Audit role.
  • Experience working within a technology, IT services or other regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, risk management and compliance principles.
  • Understanding of legal, regulatory and contractual compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing policies, controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator, capable of translating complex compliance requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. IRM, ICA, CISA, ISO Lead Auditor or equivalent) are desirable.
