The Role
As a Green Room Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring guests are welcomed and ready for their on-air appearances. Working closely with the Green Room Manager and production team, you will co-ordinate guest logistics, support live broadcasts and help create a professional and welcoming experience for all guests. Your contribution will be vital to the smooth running and success of the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and support guests on arrival, ensuring they are welcomed, comfortable and fully briefed ahead of their appearance. Provide refreshments and accommodate any specific requirements where possible
- Co-ordinate guest arrivals and departures, maintaining clear communication with editorial, production and technical teams to ensure guests are in the right place at the right time
- Prepare and maintain the green room, ensuring it is clean, organised and fully stocked with refreshments and other required items
- Liaise with production, editorial, makeup, wardrobe and technical teams to ensure guests are fully prepared for broadcast and escorted to the studio when required
- Manage guest documentation, including contracts, contributor forms and release paperwork, ensuring records are completed accurately and filed appropriately
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within the green room and surrounding areas, creating a safe and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues
- Provide logistical support during live broadcasts, managing the timely movement of guests and responding to any last-minute requirements
- Resolve guest issues and schedule changes quickly and effectively, minimising disruption to the programme

Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within television production, events, hospitality or a customer-facing environment is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to interact with a wide range of guests, contributors and production staff
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise effectively and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to changing priorities, tight deadlines and live broadcast requirements
- A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach, with a willingness to support colleagues and adapt to the needs of the programme
- High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality, particularly when working with high-profile guests and sensitive information
- Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to quickly resolve issues and respond to changing guest or production requirements
- Understanding of health and safety practices within a production environment is desirable
- Basic knowledge of television production processes or AV equipment would be beneficial, but is not essential
Please note: this is a fully on-site role based at our Gray's Inn Road studios. The position operates Monday to Friday and requires a daily start time of 4:00am. Home or remote working is not available.
