Grid Connections Manager
We are looking for an experienced Grid Connections Manager to manage the end-to-end grid connection process for renewable energy, BESS and low-carbon energy projects across the UK.
This role will sit within the Development / Engineering team and will be responsible for grid connection strategy, applications, agreements, stakeholder management and ensuring projects reach timely and cost-effective energisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage grid connection strategies for renewable and BESS projects.
- Assess connection opportunities, network constraints, reinforcement requirements and risks.
- Manage grid connection applications from feasibility through to energisation.
- Review and negotiate connection offers and agreements.
- Coordinate technical studies, including load flow, fault level, harmonic, dynamic and grid compliance studies.
- Ensure compliance with the UK Grid Code, Distribution Code, G99 and relevant ENA Engineering Recommendations.
- Act as the main point of contact for NESO, NGET, DNOs, IDNOs, Ofgem, consultants and EPC contractors.
- Work closely with internal engineering, development, commercial and project teams.
- Monitor programmes, costs, milestones and grid-related risks, reporting progress to senior management.

Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years’ experience in UK transmission, distribution, renewables, BESS or utilities.
- Experience managing grid connections for renewable energy and/or BESS projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK electricity networks, substations, protection systems and grid compliance.
- Experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E or ETAP would be advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and strong project management capability.
