Grid Engineer
G2 Recruitment are working alongside our client to hire an experienced freelance Grid Engineer for utility scale PV/Solar projects.
Contract length: 6-month initial contract
Hours: Full time hours
Working Pattern (Flexible Hours/Remote): Hybrid work available (must be able to perform construction site visits across the UK)
Job Details:
As Grid Engineer, you will act as the technical interface between our construction team, ICPs, DNOs, and commissioning engineers to ensure the project is grid-ready and energised safely and on time.

Requirements:
- Experience working on the construction of utility-scale solar PV or HV substations
- Strong understanding of DNO/ICP processes and construction requirements for grid connections in the UK
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, SLDs, installation specs, and test reports
- Must have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and must be able to speak English to a professional level
