Position: Grinder / Shunter Operative
Location: SARVAL Ltd, Hartshill
Reports to: Plant Operations Manager
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 12-hour Days and Nights (4 on 4 off)
About The Role
SARVAL Ltd, part of the SARIA Group, is seeking a reliable and motivated Grinder / Shunter Operative to join our operations team at our Hartshill site. This is a key role responsible for operating and maintaining the Grinding Plant, handling raw materials, and ensuring the efficient loading, transport, and dispatch of finished products.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the Grinding Plant and associated equipment.
- Shunt and tip delivered raw materials from bulk trailers, skips, and collection vehicles.
- Load and unload raw and finished products onto trailers and tankers.
- Transport finished products to the on-site Meal Store.
- Operate telehandlers and other plant vehicles as required.
- Collect product samples for quality analysis.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with management, production teams, and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the management team.

You will be a proactive, safety-conscious individual who can work independently and as part of a team. You will take pride in maintaining high standards of performance, reliability, and attention to detail.

Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driver’s Licence
- Experience of manual handling
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to use initiative
- Comfortable working shifts (days and nights) in all weather conditions
Desirable
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Previous experience with shunter driving or articulated vehicles
