One of us is looking for a groom artist who has experience in creating photo realistic grooms for VFX projects.
Alongside a good technical knowledge of grooming workflows within VFX, the candidate must also have a good eye for groom detail that is capable of matching onset data and also the ability to translate reference groom material onto fantasy creatures.
Previous experience in feather and plumage work is also highly desirable.
A portfolio of work that demonstrates these qualities is also required for consideration towards this role.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Providing a range of grooms that will include various human hair styles, creature grooms, feathers and peach fuzz
- Contributing to workflow and pipeline discussions for groom and also aiding in documenting workflows as needed
- Liaison with other departments involved in the creature workflow - Modelling, Rigging, Animation, Lighting and CFX.
- Meeting set schedules and deadlines while maintaining the highest standards
- Regularly communicating with Production and Leads regarding schedules and deadlines

What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experienced in Houdini's grooming tools
- An understanding of grooms CFX requirements
- Good problem solving skills
- Team oriented crew member with good communication skills

Hours and location
Our core hours are 9.30am to 6.30pm or 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday.
We have a great office in Old Street where you would be based. This is an hybrid role where you would be required to work in the studio a minimum 2 days a week.
