The Role:
An exciting opportunity to take ownership of advanced Ground Segment capabilities supporting complex satellite communications systems.
This role sits at the heart of mission-critical programmes, shaping the development and delivery of end-to-end ground solutions that enable secure, resilient, and high-performance space operations.
It offers the chance to influence product direction, lead technical decision-making, and work across multidisciplinary teams delivering next-generation capability.
The role is responsible for technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analysis across total system products.
Work spans the full lifecycle, from concept definition and design through to fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
A key focus is ensuring the structured translation of customer and product requirements into integrated system solutions that meet technical, schedule, and cost objectives. This includes functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to support both hardware and software development for complex ground segment systems.
Complexity
Develops innovative and effective solutions to highly complex and often ambiguous engineering and product challenges. Operates under consultative direction, contributing to long-range objectives while frequently initiating work independently. Work is validated through collaboration and technical agreement rather than direct supervision, reflecting a high level of autonomy and trust.
Impact
May lead or shape major programmes and product delivery workstreams, with responsibility for guiding critical engineering and product decisions. Decisions have significant and lasting impact on programme success, financial outcomes, and organisational capability. Acts as a technical authority and may represent the organisation on advanced or high-profile projects.

Knowledge
Applies advanced systems and engineering principles to develop new and innovative product solutions. Recognised as an expert within the organisation, with the ability to influence technical direction, mentor others, and contribute to the development of next-generation ground segment capability.
Required skills, qualifications and experience :
Extensive relevant experience in systems engineering, product management, or a related discipline. Experience in satellite communications ground segment systems is highly desirable. Strong background in system lifecycle development including integration, verification, and validation. Experience working across complex, multidisciplinary engineering environments. Ability to influence technical decisions and engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
LMPeople Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
