Position Overview

Role Title: Graphic Designer

Employment Type: Part Time

Location: Bankstown Aerodrome, with multi-site responsibility

The largest not-for-profit Aero Club on the Eastern Seaboard, with 55+ years of experience in training pilots. Starting out as a flying club we have since grown to now train the next generation of pilots, with over 100 new pilots commencing their aviation journey every year.

SFC has expanded its flight training operation with a second airbase in Tamworth, NSW.

With the club still at the heart of the organisation, we are now leading the way in training, fleet and our Pilot Training Academy.

We love working with people who have initiative, are proactive in finding best practice and love what they do.


Position Summary

The Graphic Designer plays a vital role in supporting our design team and delivering visually compelling and effective design solutions. You will work closely with the Head of Sales, Admissions and Marketing to bring creative ideas to life and contribute to the successful execution of various projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our Head of Sales, Admissions and Marketing to understand design requirements, objectives, and project timelines.
  • Assist in creating and designing high-quality visual materials, including but not limited to brochures, presentations, social media graphics, event collateral, website layouts, and advertisements.
  • Execute design concepts based on our brand guidelines while bringing a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the table.
  • Develop an understanding of target audiences and effectively incorporate design elements to appeal to them.
  • Support the creation and preparation of design assets for both print and digital media.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging visual content for social media platforms and other marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all design work is completed within deadlines and meets the highest quality standards.
  • Participate in design critiques, provide constructive feedback, and proactively seek opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Maintain organised files and asset management systems to ensure efficient workflow and ease of access for team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design skills and creativity.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Knowledge of current design trends and best practices.
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles and ability to apply them effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new design techniques and technologies.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
