We are currently recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance Mechanic to join us. This is a key role, ensuring all horticultural and arboriculture machinery and fleet assets are safe, compliant and fully operational to support front line delivery.

Duties include:
- Responsible for the maintenance, servicing and upkeep of horticultural and arboricultural machinery, including vehicles and trailers, to the manufacturer's specification
- Maintenance of all workshops, lifts and ramps, including workshop equipment and tools
- Deal with multi fuel storage tanks, containers and collection
- Request replacement, spare parts and impress stock, machinery and equipment
- Attend breakdowns, repairs and recovery during office and outside normal office hours as per operational needs
- Give advice and guidance to horticultural staff, how to use, maintain and carryout minor maintenance repair works including blade changes
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of machinery and equipment condition, including service history, informing management of potential vandalism
- Carry out routine servicing and repair of a wide range of machinery, vehicles, equipment and tools
- Carry out repairs to minor accident damage, including welding, paint preparation and over spraying
- Carry out regular inspections of auto electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and repair as required
- Follow and adhere to all Health & Safe procedures and practices at all times

Requirements
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in horticultural, agricultural, arboricultural mechanic repair, maintenance and servicing work
- 2 years practical experience of horticultural / arboricultural repair and maintenance work
- Must have worked on grounds maintenance machinery
- Good organisation skills including working to deadlines and under pressure
- Good IT skills including MS package
- Experience of supervising / training staff in the use of various types of grounds maintenance machinery
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations - relating to safe site working practices, use of machinery and tools
- Understanding of risk assessment methodology
- Must have a full UK manual driving licence and the ability to tow a trailer
- Right to Work in the UK - Visa Sponsorship is not available
- A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks
