Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Broadstairs, Thanet Salary/package: £27,351.61 per annum Contract type: Permanent Hours: Full time, 39 hours per week Due to the nature of the work being carried out, the successful candidate will need to have a Full (Clean) UK Driving Licence and be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check which will be carried out by the company. We’re looking for a dedicated, proactive, and safety-conscious Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Landscape Services team. In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out a variety of outdoor maintenance duties from grass cutting and border work to hedge trimming. Why this role matters Our Grounds Maintenance Operatives play a crucial role in maintaining outdoor environments for our clients. Your work directly contributes to the safety, functionality and visual appeal of public spaces. Whether maintaining local authority facilities or interacting with clients, your dedication ensures Landscape Services consistently delivers quality results. What you’ll be doing Carrying out ground’s maintenance tasks including grass cutting, border work, hedge trimming, hard area upkeep and leaf clearing. Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety practices. Conducting safety checks on equipment and reporting any issues. Using equipment and materials safely, following best practices. Delivering excellent customer service and representing Landscape Services professionally. Liaising with clients to address any concerns and resolve on-site issues. What we’re looking for Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role. Knowledge of horticulture and safe operational procedures. Demonstrable experience with mowing and grounds care equipment. Basic machinery maintenance skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. A self-motivated, reliable individual with a strong work ethic. Ability to travel to and from Broadstairs for work. What you’ll get in return Salary of £27,351.61 per annum. 25 days annual leave, rising to 27 after four years. Birthday Day Off. One concessionary day during the Christmas period.
