Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
Join Ground Control and help create and maintain exceptional outdoor spaces.
Ground Control is looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of grounds maintenance services across a portfolio of client sites.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you'll spend the majority of your time travelling between client sites, leading field teams, monitoring quality, coordinating resources and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. You'll be the day-to-day point of contact for operational teams, supporting colleagues, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring contracts are delivered successfully.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supervising grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticultural operations who enjoys leading from the front, is happy to roll up their sleeves and jump on the tools when required, and is confident using digital systems to support day-to-day operations.
What You'll Do
- Supervise the delivery of grounds maintenance services across multiple client sites.
- Travel regularly between sites to support operational teams and ensure consistent service delivery.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures, RAMS and environmental standards.
- Carry out regular site inspections to monitor quality, compliance and operational performance.
- Plan daily workloads, staff rotas and resource allocation to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Coordinate field teams, vehicles, machinery and equipment to maximise productivity.
- Provide clear work instructions and ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard.
- Lead by example by assisting with operational work and operating machinery and equipment when required.
- Monitor team performance and work with the Contract Manager to address performance issues where required.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, inspections and site visits using company systems.
- Use digital systems to manage operational activities, complete reporting requirements and communicate effectively with the wider team.
- Ensure all tools, vehicles, machinery and work areas remain clean, safe and well maintained.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
