Location: Ash-Vale, Surrey, GU12 5QF
Salary: £26,509.50 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Full-time, average of 40 hours per week
Operating Hours:
- Summer: Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 16:30, Friday 07:00 to 15:00
- Winter: Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 15:00, Friday 07:30 to 14:00

As a Grounds Operative, you’ll help create safe, clean, and welcoming outdoor spaces that communities take pride in. Your daily contributions will maintain public areas, delivering a positive impact while maintaining high standards throughout the year.
Your role includes:
- Enhancing parks and open spaces
- Supporting upkeep of housing and highways
- Ensuring high environmental standards across public areas
- Working collaboratively within a supportive team
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be entrusted with:

Grounds maintenance
- Carrying out scheduled activities using a range of machinery and equipment
- Supporting maintenance across key service areas, including housing, highways, parks, and open spaces

Technical and operational duties
- Delivering work in line with contract specifications and varying site conditions
- Inspecting, maintaining, and cleaning machinery and vehicles, reporting any issues promptly

Health, safety & service excellence
- Upholding high health and safety standards
- Providing excellent customer interactions with members of the public

Professional development
- Undertaking specific training to improve skills and knowledge of Contract requirements

Ideal Candidate
Do you have:
- Experience with grounds maintenance equipment (or a willingness to learn)?
- Strong awareness of health and safety in outdoor working environments?
- Effective communication skills and a team-focused mindset?
- Pride in delivery with a commitment to maintaining high standards?
- Proactive attitude and enthusiasm for skill development?
Also:
- Full UK driving licence
Vetting & Checks
Before joining, you’ll complete:
- Eligibility verification to work in the UK
- An Occupational Health Questionnaire to ensure support can be provided as necessary
