Groundsperson

Description
To maintain, improve, and present all indoor/outdoor areas to a high standard that is befitting of Escapade, ensuring safe, attractive and functional grounds while supporting operational efficiency and long term care of our asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine maintenance of lawns, landscaped areas, paths, and indoor/outdoor spaces
- Edging, strimming, and hedge maintenance (No grass cutting)
- Seasonal tasks including planting, leaf clearance, snow/ice clearance, and turf care
- Basic maintenance of irrigation, drainage, and outdoor fixtures
- Safe operation and routine maintenance of grounds equipment and machinery – very minimal as all large equipment will be outsourced for the main grass cutting
- Identification and reporting of hazards, defects, or improvement opportunities
- Supporting events, setup, and takedown where required
- Compliance with health & safety, environmental, and sustainability standards

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role
- Ability to use grounds equipment safely and effectively
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. horticulture, grounds maintenance, spraying certificates)
- Experience with estate management
- First Aid training
Personal Attributes:
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Pride in maintaining high standards
- Flexible and responsive to changing priorities
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
