Groundworker Apprentice
Looking to start a career in construction?
At Coinford, our Groundworker Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification and develop the practical skills needed for a successful career in the construction industry.
Working alongside experienced Groundworkers, Foremen, Engineers and Site Managers, you'll gain hands-on experience on live construction projects across London and the South East while receiving structured training and ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship.

Coinford is a groundworks and reinforced concrete frame specialist delivering projects ranging from £1 million to £50 million across London and the South East.
We work with some of the UK's leading housebuilders and contractors, and are committed to developing the next generation of construction professionals through our apprenticeship programmes.
The Role
As a Groundworker Apprentice, you will work towards becoming a qualified Groundworker while developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required within the construction industry.

What You'll Be Doing
- Working towards the Groundworker Apprenticeship Standard.
- Assisting with drainage, foundations, concrete works, kerbing, paving and external works.
- Learning to read construction drawings and use site measurements.
- Safely using hand tools and equipment under supervision.
- Supporting site teams with daily construction activities.
- Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
- Completing apprenticeship coursework and assessments.
Your Apprenticeship
Your apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with NHBC through a block release programme. You'll spend most of your time gaining practical experience on site, with scheduled periods attending the training centre to complete practical and classroom-based learning.

- Right to work in the UK.

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to travel to site locations and the training centre.

Desirable
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above).
- Previous construction work experience or work placement.
- CSCS Card (support may be provided if required).
