About the Role
Looking to start your career in construction? Do you enjoy hands-on, outdoor work? Join BAM, a trusted name in infrastructure projects, as a Groundworker Apprentice and build the foundations for a successful future in the industry.
With BAM, you’ll be:

After completing your Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship, you’ll have the chance to advance further—potentially becoming a Works Manager of tomorrow.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Groundworker Apprentice, you’ll train in:
- Preparing and levelling construction sites
- Laying foundations, drainage, and concrete
- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment safely
- Following health and safety protocols
- Working collaboratively across multiple pumping station projects

What You’ll Need
Academic Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English Grade 3 (or equivalent) is preferable, though readiness to develop these skills will also be considered
- Must not already hold a higher-level qualification in this field before starting
Additional Requirements
- Driving licence or commitment to obtain one—many projects require access to transport
- Willingness to relocate for project work (travel and living expenses supported by BAM)
- Commitment to a permanent, full-time role
