Careys are recruiting experienced Groundworkers to join our team on a major civil engineering project in Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundworks activities including drainage, ducting, foundations and concrete preparation works.
- Operate forward tipping dumpers safely and efficiently in accordance with site requirements and safety procedures.
- Assist with earthworks, excavation support and the installation of underground services.
- Work from drawings and instructions to complete works to the required specification and programme.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping while supporting the delivery of major civil engineering works.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- CSCS Card
- CPCS or NPORS Dumper Qualification (Desirable)
- Proven experience in civil engineering groundworks
- Experience with drainage and ducting works

Our story starts in 1969 with three brothers and a van.
John, Tom and Pat Carey moved to London from Ireland and started a groundworks contracting company in London called PJ Carey Plant Hire (Oval) Ltd.
Their aspirations at the time were reflective of the values of the Carey Group today – to care about everything they did, to act with humility in all interactions, to be passionate about their work and be authentic at all times.
The Carey Group remains a family-owned construction business, operating across the UK and Ireland. Their goal at the time was to grow to around 50 operatives and provide quality, safe work so that they and their employees could provide for their families and get safe home every day. Through hard work and sticking to their values and their word, this was certainly achieved….and some.
