We’re hiring: Ground Worker / Labourer
Alton Facility Services is seeking a reliable, hardworking and practical Ground Worker / Labourer to join our team on a full-time basis.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting landscaping, construction, drainage and maintenance projects. The successful candidate will work as part of an experienced team, helping to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Role details
- Salary: £39,000–£50,000 per year
- Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm
- Job type: Full-time
- Location: Passfield Mill Business Park, Mill Lane, Liphook, GU30 7QU
- Work location: In person
Key responsibilities
- Operating hand tools, power tools and equipment, including excavators
- Supporting construction activities through digging, lifting and moving materials
- Assisting with site preparation, clean-up and the organisation of materials
- Carrying out routine maintenance on tools and machinery
- Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment
- Following all relevant health and safety procedures
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to complete projects within agreed deadlines

What we’re looking for
Previous experience in groundworks, construction, landscaping or a similar practical role is desirable, although training will be provided for suitable candidates.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong work ethic and proactive attitude
- The physical fitness required for manual outdoor work
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Excavator operating experience
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence, which is essential
- A CSCS card, which would be beneficial
