At Bayman Atkinson Smythe Ltd, we are delighted to be assisting a well-established IT company based in South Manchester, in finding an experienced Group Accountant to join their talented finance team.

This is a permanent role tailored for a proactive professional who is confident managing consolidations and overseeing external statutory reporting processes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Group’s multi-entity, multi-currency accounts, including subsidiaries in Europe. You will be responsible for managing the monthly preparation of the group consolidation, & delivering timely reports to shareholders and banking institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly preparation of the group consolidation, incorporating multi-entity and multi-currency accounts
  • Lead the external audit process, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements
  • Prepare and review monthly financial accounts for European entities, including full balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure timely internal and external reporting deadlines are met, including monthly shareholder and bank reporting
  • Manage invoicing, payments, and approval processes within the finance system
  • Monitor compliance with IFRS standards, implementing necessary adjustments
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with external auditors and internal teams across European sites

Requirements

  • Previous experience in financial accounting and consolidations within a multi-entity environment
  • Solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards
  • Proven ability to oversee external audits and statutory reporting processes
  • Strong technical proficiency in financial systems and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience working with multi-currency accounts
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
