Group Financial Reporting and Technical Accountant - 16 month FTC
JSS are supporting a top corporate bank who are currently looking for a talented Group Financial Reporting and Technical Accountant to join their team. This will be a key role, supporting a broad range of responsibilities in an inclusive and flexible working environment.
The Role
In this central position, you will be a key contributor to the group finance function, supporting external reporting and providing technical accounting advice across the group. Your responsibilities will range from core reporting tasks to impactful project work and technical analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare the group financial statements at year end and half year, working in Workiva.
- Provide end to end support on the audit process, helping manage the audit relationship and responding to audit requests and challenges.
- Take ownership of the quarterly FINREP reporting process, including monitoring changes in PRA requirements, managing the group timetable, consolidating divisional returns and submitting to the PRA.
- Technical Accounting: Provide accounting support, advice and training to divisional finance teams, prepare technical accounting papers
- Perform horizon scanning and assist in the preparation of new accounting policies and updates.
- Assist with the implementation of accounting and FINREP change initiatives to ensure operational excellence.

Essential Criteria:
- ACA (or equivalent) qualification
- Strong experience in financial reporting and technical accounting, ideally within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of a broad range of IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 9, is highly desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in managing complex information.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across different functional and geographic boundaries.
