Group Accountant (up to £50,000 per annum)

About the Role
The role will sit within the Group Finance team, responsible for Group financial reporting and analysis, treasury and cash flow management, consolidation of the Group’s results, and leading the annual financial audit and production of group financial statements. The team works closely with the wider Finance team in London.
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Group Accountant will:
- Own key month-end processes for revenue and cost, ensuring accurate allocations to brands in line with the reporting timetable.
- Maintain strict control over the balance sheet, delivering timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
- Play a significant role in Treasury activities and the Group’s year-end audit, supporting external auditors.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised, and take ownership of responsibilities while quickly understanding Immediate Media’s business. Strong collaboration with the wider finance team is essential—building relationships, swiftly resolving queries, and communicating clearly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities
As a Group Accountant, you will:
- Take ownership of circulation and subscription revenue postings and direct cost allocations at month-end, completing all associated monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers, including monthly depreciation, amortisation, additions, and disposal journals.
- Support the timely resolution of audit queries across profit & loss and balance sheet areas.
- Undertake ad hoc analysis, project work, and additional tasks as required by the Group Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller.
- Have the opportunity to expand responsibilities within Group Finance over time.
Requirements
- ACCA or CIMA part-qualified accountant
- Previous experience in a similar financial role or commercial environment
- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, systems, and processes
- Experience working to strict timetables and procedures
- Demonstrable attention to detail and structured methodologies to ensure accuracy
- Familiarity with financial systems/software and strong Excel skills
- Commitment to developing and implementing process improvements in complex reporting structures
- Ability to deliver high-quality output under pressure
- Initiative-taking, problem-solving, and practical思维可解决商业挑戰
- Confident team player with excellent influencing, facilitation, and communication skills
- (Media background is advantageous but not mandatory)
- (Experience with Access Dimensions is beneficial)
