Group Accounts Director
Accounts Director | UNO Hotels
📍 Slough, Berkshire (Head Office)
UNO Hotels is an expanding hospitality group with assets across London, Heathrow, Berkshire, Sussex and Kent. Our business spans hotels, restaurants, meetings and events, weddings, and hospitality investments, with exciting plans for future growth.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Director to lead the finance function across our expanding portfolio. This is a senior leadership position for a commercially-minded finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to shape the financial future of a growing hotel group.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role involves:
- Financial leadership, governance, and strategic direction
- Oversight of all financial operations in partnership with operational leaders
- Supporting profitability, financial controls, acquisitions, and expansion
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership and Governance
- Lead the finance function across the UNO Hotels portfolio
- Prepare monthly management accounts and board reporting packs
- Deliver accrueat budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and working capital plans
- Manage statutory accounts, audits, and year-end processes
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and all statutory requirements
- Oversee VAT, PAYE, corporation tax, and financial reporting obligations

Financial Controls and Systems
- Develop robust financial controls, policies, and internal procedures
- Drive continuous improvement through automation and enhanced financial reporting systems
Team and Operations
- Lead and develop the finance team across multiple hotel locations
- Partner with operational management to improve departmental profitability
- Monitor KPIs including:
- Gross Operating Profit (GOP)
- EBITDA
- Payroll ratios
- Food cost and labour cost
Growth and Stakeholder Engagement
- Support hotel acquisitions, financing, refinancing, and investment projects
- Work closely with:
- External accountants
- Auditors
- Banks and lenders
- Investors
- Influence strategic decision-making and senior stakeholders
Requirements
Essential
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Senior finance leadership experience within hotels, hospitality, or multi-site businesses
- Strong understanding of hotel accounting and commercial performance
- Experience managing cash flow within a growing business
- In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax compliance
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting expertise
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and support strategic decision-making

- Experience with hospitality Property Management Systems (PMS), EPOS, and accounting systems
