Group Finance Associate

Group Finance Associate

Location: Central London (4 days office / 1 day working from home) Type: Permanent Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

Overview

Due to continued growth, our client, a leading investment management business, is seeking a qualified accountant to join its Group Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance function, offering exposure to a broad range of financial reporting and group accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts using Microsoft Dynamics, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support core financial processes, including:
    • Reviewing bank reconciliations
    • Processing staff expenses, corporate travel, and credit card journals
  • Liaise with external payroll providers to ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time:
    • Preparing payroll schedules
    • Reviewing payroll reports
    • Posting payroll journals
    • Maintaining monthly staff cost schedules
  • Prepare pension and Share Incentive Plan (SIP) contribution schedules.
  • Reconcile payroll deductions against benefit provider statements and invoices.
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts, including:
    • Payroll control
    • Pensions
    • PAYE
    • Payroll deductions
    • SIP contributions
    • Performance Share Plan (PSP) balances
    • Season ticket loans
  • Review management accounts expense schedules.
  • Update and reconcile balance sheet accounts across group entities, particularly those relating to:
    • Expenses
    • Accruals
    • Prepayments
    • Payroll
  • Prepare Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) remuneration disclosures.
  • Produce employment data reporting, including:
    • FTE analysis
    • Leavers/joiners reporting
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for group entities.
  • Assist with statutory audits and support external auditors as required.
  • Provide proactive support across the wider Finance team on both planned and ad hoc projects.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying and implementing process efficiencies.
  • Flexibility to support colleagues across the Finance team.
