About The Role
Bonhams consolidates a multi-entity, multi-currency group spanning the UK, US, Europe, Hong Kong and Australia. Consolidation runs through a heavily configured legacy tool, and the Group's consolidation platform is subject to a fit-for-purpose review as part of our finance transformation.
The Group Finance Manager owns the consolidation end-to-end and will lead the selection and implementation of the Group's future consolidation platform. You will also support the Group Financial Controller to lead the production of financial statements (Group and statutory) under IFRS and local standards, and act as the Group's consolidation authority.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Group consolidation. Own the monthly Group consolidation: eliminations, intercompany, FX translation, minority interests and group adjustments across all entities, including non-integrated acquired entities.
- Consolidation systems implementation. Support the fit-for-purpose review of the current consolidation tool and the selection, design and implementation of its replacement, including requirements, data model, chart of accounts mapping, parallel running and cutover.
- Financial statements. Lead production of Group and local statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards, including disclosures, and act as a key contact for the external audit at Group level.
- Continuous improvements. Support and contribute to continuous improvements of month end processes, working with the Group FC and Group FD, identifying automation opportunities across the close, reconciliation and reporting cycles.
- Reporting standards. Define and enforce a consistent Group reporting pack and submission standards for all entities; eliminate Excel-based assembly where the system can do the work.
- Intercompany discipline. Establish intercompany matching and dispute-resolution processes so eliminations are routine, not investigative.
- Audit and project management. Support the Group Financial Controller through delivery of the annual external audit for the Group and subsidiaries. This involves working with the Group FC to manage the audit plan, coordinating fieldwork across entities, maintaining the deliverables schedule and resolving queries to timetable.
