Group Financial Accountant
Cambridge (2 days in the office)
12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
£60,000 - £65,000
Our client is a highly respected international organisation seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant to join their Group Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working within a collaborative, high-performing finance function, taking ownership of group reporting, statutory accounts, technical accounting, and financial control in a complex, multi-entity environment.
Working alongside an experienced finance leadership team, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate month-end reporting, supporting statutory reporting requirements, and providing technical accounting expertise across the business. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly group consolidation journals and support the group reporting process.
- Produce statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures.
- Deliver technical accounting guidance, including the application of IFRS.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and month-end reporting.
- Support both internal and external audit processes, providing accurate and timely information.
- Research complex accounting matters and provide practical recommendations.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

About You
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience operating within a corporate finance or practice environment.
You'll also bring:
- Strong IFRS knowledge and technical accounting capability.
- Experience of group reporting, consolidations, and statutory accounts.
- Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting audit processes and maintaining robust financial controls.
