Group Financial Accountant - Near Watford
Overview JSS are partnering with our client, recruiting a technically strong and detail-oriented Group Financial Accountant to support the finance function at a group level. This role is responsible for group consolidation, statutory reporting, balance sheet integrity, internal controls, and audit management, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and delivering high-quality financial information to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Group Consolidation & Reporting Prepare and manage the monthly and annual group consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Review and eliminate intercompany balances and transactions, ensuring consistency across the group. Maintain and improve consolidation systems and processes. Produce group reporting packs for senior management and stakeholders. Statutory Accounting & Financial Statements Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements for group entities in accordance with UK GAAP / IFRS. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and disclosure requirements. Coordinate the year-end process across multiple entities and jurisdictions (if applicable) Balance Sheet Ownership & Controls Take ownership of group balance sheet integrity, ensuring robust reconciliation processes are in place. Review and challenge key balance sheet positions, identifying risks and opportunities. Strengthen and maintain financial controls in line with best practice and audit requirements. Audit Management Act as the primary contact for external auditors, managing the audit process end-to-end. Prepare audit deliverables, schedules, and supporting documentation.

Qualifications & Experience ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent), ideally with practice-trained background. Strong technical accounting knowledge Experience in group consolidation and statutory reporting, ideally multi-entity Experience managing audits and strong understanding of balance sheet controls Experience with consolidation system desirable.
