Ascent Recruitment is delighted to exclusively partner with a market-leading business in Wilmslow as they look to appoint a Group Financial Accountant to join their high-performing finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong, qualified, finalist, or PQ accountant to take ownership of statutory reporting across a large and complex group structure while supporting a small team.
This role would suit either a 1st time mover from Practice or someone from Practice with some industry experience.
The role will involve:
- Overseeing statutory reporting for a large number of entities (FRS 102) and group-managed entities (FRS101)
- Reviewing and preparing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all reporting requirements
- Managing the external audit process for group subsidiaries and acting as a key contact for auditors
- Leading technical accounting projects, including IFRS 16 implementation and other reporting initiatives
- Maintaining and enhancing the group's accounting manual, policies and best practices
- Supporting ONS reporting, audits and a variety of ad-hoc finance and business projects
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting efficiencies across the function
- Leading, mentoring a small team

The ideal candidate:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or part qualified/finalist
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge
- Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across the business
- Proactive, organised and keen to drive continuous improvement initiatives

Salary and key benefits:
- £45,000
- 10% bonus
