Group Financial Accountant
Group Financial Accountant | International Business in Bath
About the Role
An International business based in Bath is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
Join a high-performing Group Finance team driving accurate reporting across a global organisation. You'll lead key consolidation cycles, challenge and support international finance teams, and elevate IFRS compliance across the Group.
The role will include:
- Review and challenge subsidiary finance submissions across multiple jurisdictions
- Oversee intercompany activity, ensuring clean eliminations and accurate consolidation
- Strengthen IFRS compliance, supporting local teams to embed Group-level standards
- Produce technical accounting papers on complex IFRS topics
- Act as a key contact for external auditors, managing queries and coordinating audits
- Contribute to evolving ESG reporting, helping shape long-term sustainability insights
- Support statutory accounts and corporation tax filings across the Group
- Champion process improvement, control enhancement, and consolidation system optimisation
- Collaborate closely with Group Finance and international subsidiaries on wider projects

Responsibilities
- Drive accurate reporting and financial consistency in a global organisation
- Lead technical accounting and IFRS compliance initiatives
- Manage relationships with external auditors and internal subsidiaries
- Enhance financial controls, reporting efficiency, and system performance
- Engage with sustainability and ESG initiatives
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong industry grounding
- Background in practice is beneficial
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships, including occasional international travel
- Clear, confident communication skills
- Strong analytical mindset and high-quality reporting capability
- Advanced Excel skills and solid experience with modern accounting systems
