Group Financial Accountant
Senior Group Accounting & Reporting Role – Hybrid Location
I am working on a retained basis with a Private Equity-backed SaaS business based in Ilkley, Yorkshire. This is a hybrid role offering development opportunities for the right candidate. This position suits someone who thrives as a self-starter with confidence in their abilities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll take full ownership of group reporting and consolidation while supporting the wider finance function. Your responsibilities will include financial analysis, budgeting, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidations.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements, including:
- Balance sheet
- Profit & loss (P&L)
- Cash flow statements
- Ensure accurate intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS, ensuring alignment with relevant accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Generate insightful management reports for senior leadership.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Review and enhance financial controls and accounting processes.
- Collaborate closely across finance, taxation, treasury, and operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Relevant experience in group accounting or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficient Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
